From The Perfumer
I have always been a story teller. Originally as an author, then as a screenwriter, I shared stories through wine as well, and finally I have leaned into perfumery as my medium. When I designed fragrances for private clients, I wanted to share their stories in each bottle. This, however, is finally my story. Each fragrance shares a mythical or religious tale of creation, representing the breaking down of my life and its recreation in Christ. During my time at ISIPCA, I faced personal and professional adversities. Empyrean Parfums is the story of my struggle through love, life, and internal battles with religion. As I battled, I wrote Haiku, crafted fragrances that would represent this reformation of who I wanted to be, and prayed fervently. Because of those times, we have Empyrean. I think that stories like this deserved to be shared, experienced, and explored so that others can feel the power to share their light.
Our fragrances are designed to be poignant, intellectual, stoic, and opulent. From the moment you see our packaging to the moment you wear and purchase it, I hope 4 things happen. First, I hope you feel something - whether good or bad the fragrances are emotionally evocative. Second, I hope it makes you take pause and reflect - our fragrances develop over time and are for the thoughtful and intentional connoisseurs. Third I hope you sense a feeling of confidence - we want to embolden our wearers. Lastly, I hope you feel elegant when you hold our packaging and when you wear it as well.

About Ethan
Ethan Turner is an African-American Perfumer and Sommelier. Turner began studying perfumery, wine, and olfaction at the age of 19. He graduated from Drake University with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, and a second BA in Writing. During college he took courses in Fashion & Luxury Brand Management from Università Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Later, Turner was trained in perfumery at the French academy ISIPCA, and as a Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. He manages 20 fragrance lines under his manufacturing label Maison Ethan Turner, and his work has been featured in publications such as Cuisine Noir, Perfumer & Flavorist, AskMen, among others. In 2022, He was nominated for Best Designer, and was awarded Perfumer of the Year from the Golden Pineapple Awards in both 2022 and 2023. In 2023, as part of his membership in BlackPerfumers, he was a recipient of the Community Impact Award from the Institute of Art and Olfaction Awards. In his personal life he loves cars, wine, dining, and maintains a life mission to empower people to become the best version of themselves.
